TRE® is a series of gentle exercises that enables the body to release stored tension from the nervous system; this often allows muscles to relax and the body to calm. TRE is a fantastic tool for if you are feeling "stuck," fatigued, stressed, have trouble sleeping, have experienced physical or emotional trauma, or feel like your body's "fight/flight" response is constantly "on."
I guide groups and individuals through the process of learning TRE. I hold space, provide learning materials, and have set-up my program to enable you to safely and successful practicing TRE on your own after completion.

TRE was originally created for groups who have experienced tension, trauma, or stress where therapy for masses were not available.
Group TRE is extremely beneficial for teams who regularly experience intense situations, where stress is high, or where the body's "fight/flight" response is "on."
What is TRE?
TRE stands for Trauma and Tension Releasing Exercises. TRE can be used by people of all ages and of all backgrounds. Trauma and stress are stored in our brain stems and then can impact our muscles and organs. TRE consists of seven exercises designed to fatigue and stretch muscles associated with tension with the intention of enabling the body to move into positions where the release of stored energy via nervous system is activated.

Trembling & Shaking Response
The 'shaking' comes from within the sympathetic nervous system (the rest and digest system) and enables your body to 'shake off' part of the trauma/tension that was not released after the intense or prolonged stressful events. All mammals shake after traumatic events to discharge the energy gathered from the body's "fight/flight/freeze" system jumping in and taking over. The problem for many people is that after a stressful event, we don't really do anything to discharge this energy and often turn to numbing, busyness, distraction, alcohol, addictions, etc. as ways to 'cope.' TRE/shaking enables our bodies to begin to release the trauma/tension that has been piling up for years, and also re-invites our bodies to access this naturally born tool we, and all other mammals, possess in order to move through trauma more effectively. Since we are socially conditioned beings and most of us have unknowingly shut-off the body's natural response to shaking, these exercises help the body re-access these mechanisms.
During & Post Session
During the session I will explain what TRE is, take you through the seven exercises and into the trembling. I hold space and check in with you while your body is shaking out tension - everyone shakes differently depending on their body's stored trauma pattern, and the shaking changes often per session - therefore, your TRE shaking process will be unique to you and I will hold space for your unique process. After the session completes, we debrief afterwards. Questions are always welcome during the process or in days to come.
